Onimusha: Warlords makes its way back to console

 

Onimusha: Warlords comes to Xbox One  on January 15, 2019. Originally released in 2001, Onimusha: Warlords successfully blended thrilling action with a cinematic story to achieve over 2 million copies sold worldwide.

Now Capcom brings the original sword fighting action title to Xbox One with updated features including high-definition graphics, widescreen display option, analog stick support, a readily available Easy Mode option, and new soundtrack.

The game will be available as a digital purchase for £15.99.

Onimusha: Warlords follows the battle-filled journey of samurai Samanosuke Akechi and ninja Kaede on a quest to save Princess Yuki from a legion of mysterious demons who have invaded Inabayama Castle. As the two travel throughout the castle, they unravel a malevolent plot by those who would serve the evil lord Nobunaga Oda. Using sword-based combat, a magical Oni Gauntlet and puzzle solving, players need to call on both brawn and creativity to defeat the demonic foes.

Streets of Rage 4 has been revealed

 
Today Lizardcube (Wonder Boy: The Dragon Trap),  Guard Crush Games (Streets of Fury) and Dotemu today revealed Streets of Rage 4!

TimeSplitters has been acquired

Early this morning a press release went out from Koch Media with the news that they have come to agreement over the ownership of the intellectual property TimeSplitters and Second Sight. 

 

Largely considered as one of the most influential console games of the early 2000s Timesplitters was originally created by Free Radical Design, who later became Crytek UK Ltd and finally Deep Silver Dambuster, also part of the Koch Media family.  The three-game series earned a large and passionate fan base thanks to its unique humor, art style, and pop culture references while encouraging customization and modification to give each person their own individual experience.  “We are hugely excited to have acquired Timesplitters” commented Klemens Kundratitz, CEO Koch Media GmbH “The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience.  We have many fans of the Timesplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill today's gaming audience.”
 
Koch Media have also acquired the rights to science fiction action-adventure game Second Sight.   Also conceived by Free Radical Design, Second Sight was originally released in 2004 and follows the adventures of an American parapsychology researcher who undertakes missions alongside a band of U.S Marines using a mix of gun combat and stealth gameplay.  Forthcoming Second Site products will also be published by Deep Silver. 
 
The most escited bit of new is details of future Timesplitters and Second Sight products will be revealed in due course.

#Wargames Review

 

#Wargames is my first review on Guilty Spark and the main reason why I decided to do reviews on the site, as I've seen no reviews on this game.

I use the term game loosely when talking about interactive video series #Wargames and yes it is called that, from Her Story creator Sam Barlow.

Which was the main draw for me the connection to Her Story and why I paid my money for the title.

Much like Her Story, #Wargames is an FMV game unlike Her Story it isn't very good.

I get what it's trying to do and that's to get you to make choices in how you react whilst face timing, the problem is unlike a Telltale game or even fellow FMV game The Late Shift (I recently played via Game Pass) you know when to make a choice and what it may even do, yet in #Wargames you really have no idea and honestly I could see someone playing from the start to finish without switching who you face time and getting an-okay acted 6 episode web series.

I appreciate #Wargames is trying to push the medium forward by doing something different along with having some more mature themes and they are the sort thing that now has a place in gaming like they do in TV and Film, just what's on offer isn't very good.

Blog Update: Reviews are Coming

When I started this blog, my plan was to bring you news on Xbox as I found coming back into the Xbox scene I wasn't seeing all the goings on with the platform.

Since then I've brought you news such as when War Thunder would come to Xbox One, New One X Enhancements, the Dolby Vision update and that is the sort of thing I wanted to bring to you. 

That was my plan and nothing else, however, the site has been more popular then I thought it would be which has got me thinking should I really not be doing reviews on here. 

Now I don't play all my games on Xbox One and not all of them are available on the system, yet more I use my One X and the closer I get to 100,000 gamerscore along with keeping up with the goings in the world of Xbox the more likely it has become I will be playing Assassins Creed Odyssey, Battlefield V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider on my One X.

Am I going to review everything that comes out No! and do you want to hear what I've got to say on Assassins Creed Odyssey when they're hundreds of people covering it, I'd think not?

Yet the likes of Kentucky Route Zero, The Last Night, We Happy Few which might go under the radar elsewhere I will certainly look at reviewing when I do play. I hope you found this update useful and the same goes for any game I do a review for in the future, starting tonight.

TYLER: MODEL 005 ARRIVES ON XBOX ONE
