After the announcement, Darwin Project would go free to play on PC, lead much talking about the Game Preview title on Xbox One but late yesterday we got this information on the Xbox versions future.
Here’s an important update from our Creative Director Simon Darveau:
We are super excited to release the game free to play on Xbox One. We made sure you guys can have a great social experience. We optimized the game and add the friend system. Can’t wait to have your feedback! See you in the arena!
Is Darwin Project now really free on Steam and Xbox?
Yes, starting July 4th.
What else are you working to immediately improve or add?
We improved performance and add the friend system. We’re working to improve the feel of combat, player powers and tile system. We’ll let you know soon.
Will you add more tiles?
As planned, you’ll be able to play more tiles this summer (see summer roadmap)
I bought the game already. Since it’s free now, will I be compensated?
If you own Darwin Project, you’ll receive the Founder’s Pack.
I have not bought the game, but I want to support you and get the founder’s pack, how can I get it?
You can buy the game and get the Founder’s Pack before Friday, June 22nd.
I bought the game on Xbox. Since it’s free now, can I have a refund?
Yes. If you paid for the game and want to be refunded, contact Xbox support and we’ll give you one.
Will Darwin Project be pay-to-win?
No. We will never sell items that give a competitive advantage.
